On Sunday, in the event of celebrating my brother's birthday, me, my fiance and my brother went to Murasaki on Clement street for dinner. In light of recommendations from fellow chowhounders, we let the chef decide on the meals. It happens to be one of the best japanese meal experiences I ever had, the experience is comparable to having the testing menu at Morimoto's in PA last year. Although my fiance insists that Murasaki is more satisfying.
This is what was served in order:
Seared Monk Fish Liver in Ponzu sauce
Thinly slivered raw halibut
Grilled Yellowtail Collars
Something Mushi (a soup in a teapot, with seafood)
Toro Sushi (cheek part, melt in your mouth good)
Fresh Abalone Sushi (not too crazy about this one)
Spicy Hamachi Roll
Fresh Salmon Sushi
The unagi was supposed to be the last dish served, but we were enjoying ourselves so much that we ordered more. So we got
Toro Sushi (Belly part, good but not as good as the cheeks)
Razor Clam Sushi
Since it was my brother's birthday, they gave us green tea mousse on the house. The mousse were extremely well done.
Overall, the bill came up to $180 before tips and we are very satisfied. We would highly recommend this place to everyone.
