went out to dinner at moxie last night.
we had, on the recommendation of the waiter, the fried calamari w/fried lemon and parsley aioli as an appetizer. it was very good - not too oily and actually quite a large serving - too much for two people who still had a whole dinner ahead.
entrees were also very good. i had (also on the recommendation of the waiter who says its the staff favorite right now) braised beef shortribs (marinated w/horseradish and something else that escapes me right now)w/horseradish whipped potatoes. the meat was very tender and very savory. again, the portion was quite large. my dining companion had pan seared grouper filet w/hot and sweet peppers. it came w/a side of polenta.
we saved room for dessert - by taking home large portions of our entrees! - and had the baked hot chocolate. it was nothing special but delicious - good chocolate cake and very good whipped cream.
