Deb and I went there after the Yankees, behind AJ Burnett, insisted on losing on Labor Day.
Outwardly, the shop hasn't changed much since last I visited (under the Anthony Mangieri regime). Motorino has brought some solid improvements to the table: decent beer and wine selections; very nice antipasti (I like the octopus and potato salad); desserts; prompt service.
What Motorino lacks is the same level of expertise that Anthony brought to the office every day. Crusts are good, but not as good. Sauce is a tiny bit too sweet, a smidgen too bright (acid). The cheese on my pizza margherita was pretty pedestrian.
Not a bad experience, just not as good as I remembered. No espresso? Not right.
