Mo's BBQ - Troy, NY

I finally got around to trying Mo's BBQ (107 Mill St., Troy NY) last night and thought it was excellent. I had the combination dinner - 1/2 chicken and 1/2 rack of ribs with 2 sides and cornbread ($15.95). The chicken was probably the best chicken I've ever tasted, BBQ or otherwise...it was perfectly cooked and moist with a deep smoky flavor. He applies a dry rub 24 hours before cooking, and sauce is available on the table in hot or regular versions. The rub was the most outstanding feature IMO, the combination of flavors was great. I used a bit of the hot BBQ sauce, it wasn't super hot and was good. The ribs were also very good. I had the baked beans and the coleslaw for sides, both were very good. Someone else I know went there for takeout last night and also liked it a lot...he had the BBQ beef sandwich and the chicken. He said his chicken was a little on the dry side, but good...and he was very impressed with the beef. I'll be going back soon to try the pulled pork and beef sandwiches...they're only around $3-$4. It's a small place with only a few tables, he seems to do a lot of takeout business.
