Moon Palace/LTH

I had the pleasure of leaving my coat in Moon Palace after the wonderful meal Friday night. I was unable to return on Saturday to pick it up. So today I drove in from South Bend to pick up my coat and have lunch. After picking up my coat I met Gwiv at LTH for lunch today. I have eaten 6-7 times at LTH and the food has always been excellent. But, today, the meal went beyond excellent and achieved the status of perfection.

The menu today included:

Shrimp Toast

Salt & Pepper Shrimp w/o shells

Crispy Fried Chicken

Pan Fried Noodles extra crispy and little sauce.

Shrimp toast was very good. Particularly with dipping sauces of Gary’s chili oil, Chinese mustard, and Siruchan (sp) hot sauce.

S & P shrimp were light, delicate with a perfect seasoned light breading.

Crispy Fried Chicken - Outstanding. It took all of my polite reserve not to stab Gary and steal the skin off his portion of the chicken.

Pan Fried Rice Noodles- This was perfection no matter who’s God, Higher Power, or Spiritual Advisor made them. The delicate and wonderful flavors of the sauce matched perfectly with the crispy noodles. They were amazing. You would bite a noodle and then hear the crackling of crispness like you were eating a pork rind or potato chip.

Three people came in and sat down as we were halfway through our meal. When we finished a discussion with them followed. Gary and I learned they had never been to Chinatown. We began talking and they mentioned that they had read the article in the Chicago Tribune about Chowhound and while walking around saw the “other” Three Happiness and remembered the recommendations from the article. They walked across they street and ate. Its quite fascinating how we touch so many people in this world by sharing what we do.

I was going to leave my coat again, so I could come back but was caught. (smile)
