I'll be visiting Montreal from Brooklyn in September, and I was planning to stay in Old Montreal based on hotel recommendations from friends (Hotel Place D'Armes is the front runner). I'm worried about the food, though!
Will I be stranded in over-priced mediocre food-ville? I'd like to be able to walk to good chow from my hotel. Good pastries, high-end and low-end French, ethnic/latin eats and good coffee are my targets.
Is there a better chow neighborhood where I should stay?
