Montana adventure

My husband and I just returned from a week in southeastern Montana, and although we had no great meals, we did have a couple of funny food-related experiences that I thought I'd share:

One was in the historic Corner Saloon in the town of Baker, where the menu listed "chicken shit" and "chicken shit salad". (Yes, we ordered it and it was like popcorn shrimp, only chicken instead. At least we hope it was chicken....) The second was in the Bearcreek Saloon in the town of Bearcreek outside of Red Lodge, where we not only had the best steak of the trip but also got to see (and bet $2 on) the pig races, which seems to be the hottest event in the area judging by the crowds.

Back in Billings on our last night, we did have a very good meal (but more upscale and trendy, which was not the point of our trip) at a new place called "Q" (Asian fusion). Besides the food, it was a great trip--very interesting and untouristy area once you're east of Billings.
