On a recent trip to Salt Spring Island, I tried out the butter chicken sauce at the Monsoon Coast Exotic World Spice stall in the market. It was amazing, so I bought the spice mixtures, and finally got a chance to make them this weekend. It was the best butter chicken I have ever had at home...be it with a spice mixture, pre made sauce, or from scratch. I made it bit spicier than the recipe suggests, for my own personal tastes, and did the chicken on the Big Green Egg to get a bit more smokiness into the sauce.
With some fresh Naan, it was an amazing meal on a chilly Saturday evening.
I searched online, and found out that the Cookbook Co and Savour Fine Foods both carry the line.
They have quite a few different spice mixtures, all I've tried are great. I definately suggest giving these a shot if you like cooking at home.
