Hi, you all:
Tried Mission 261 for dim sum. The decor by far is the best in LA if not the entire US. It is very upscale and does not feel like a dim sum parlor. It is lofty with those excluse private rooms and even a courtyard for people who wish to dine outside.
It is a menu service rather than cart service.
The variety and taste however, are not that great.
I don't know why Jonathan Gold thinks this is THE best dim sum in California right now.
If he tried Sea Harbour or New Concept, he probably would have changed his mind.
Nonetheless, it's worth it to do it once, just to experience the interiors of this place. It's truly in an unique location.
