A new Indian/Bangladeshi place along 43rd Ave.
I went in just as it first opened and the woman showed me what she could prepare - she only had okra, onions, tomatoes, just enough for Bindi Masala. She didn't have all the ingredients available to do most things on the menu so I ordered just that.
I waited like 20 minutes but I didn't mind because I got to thinking that this woman was preparing me a fresh dish of Indian food and it was kinda cool. I previously thought that with all the complex dishes that Indian food was just sitting around in a tupperware cold until someone ordered it.
I've got to say that it was like my best friend's Indian mom cooked me dinner. It was fabulous and homemade. The handmade roti was great.
Hoping I could get the same quality food a week later I went back with my wife and again the food blew us away. The Malai Kofta Sauce was amazing. It took about 20 minutes but they explained that it was being made fresh.
They owner came by the table a few times to explain that they, unlike other Indian restaurants, prepare their food fresh which takes more time.
If you're in the area definitely check this place out. You'll wait a while for your food but you will see why.
