Mimosa Cafe and Grill

Randy | Mar 24, 2005 01:48 PM

I went to the new Mimosa Cafe for dinner last night. They are located across from Centro on Yonge St. (on the east side) It has been open a week and was a very pleasant experience. The owner is a former sommelier at Biff's and others, and has done a nice job with the room and menus. Seats about 80ish and has a private dining room.

I was in a bit of a hurry (late for a show), but tried various menu itemsL leek and goat cheese fondue (delicious with a crisp Sauvignon Blanc), Escargots in a phyllo pastry (fantastic with an earthy Pinot Noir) and we split the cheesy ravioli and a perfectly cooked pork tenderloin (great with a bottle of Gigondas).

Prices ranged from $7-10 for apps and $11-20 for mains (Angus steak was a little more). Didn't have time to see a dessert menu but a good reason to come back. Apparently they do brunch and lunch as well.

Anybody else been??

Cheers,

Randy
