Midoh Japanese Kitchen

I recently visited this place out of pure interest. It is not very crowded compared to other restaurants in the center like Boiling Point or some new conveyor belt sushi place.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with the food. The curry was great and they give this great spicy sauce that you can put in if it is not hot enough for you. I ordered the hamburger steak curry which came with salad and a choice of corn soup (which I got) or miso soup. Corn soup was solid, nothing impressive though. I got my curry and dug in. Very nice curry, pretty spicy as is and the hamburger was soft, meatloaf like but a bit smallish. The curry itself was pretty damn good.

On another visit I ordered the tonkatsu which is made with "black pig" loin. The tonkatsu was pretty tasty, soft, and flavorful and came with this toasted sesame katsu sauce that you smash tableside was pretty cool. The sauce had a great nutty flavor, not like any katsu sauce I have ever tasted.

Overall, pretty good Japanese food. Next I will probably end up mashing the two together and get the tonkatsu curry which I think could be great. But seriously this place should be getting some more attention.
