I've seen a few restaurants claiming to have Michigan-raised shrimp, and have heard of a shrimp farm in Lansing. Anyone know any more details? Aquaculture is probably going to be big business in the future, so I'm glad Michigan is in on it, because you know, JOBS. Additionally, I usually refuse to eat any imported shrimp after hearing a report on NPR about the polluted old mangrove areas where most overseas shrimp is harvested. So if I can have some nice, farm-raised shrimp without paying gulf shrimp prices, that would be swell.
