Michael's, JiRaffe, A.O.C. or Patina for boyfriend's 30th bday dinner tonight?

Ok, the clock is ticking so I thought I'd try a different subject line with specific restaurants listed.

My BF and I just moved to Marina Del Rey a little over a month ago from Chicago. (We're just loving being Californians!)

We're celebrating his 30th bday tonight and I'm having a tough time deciding on the right place. (We're BIG time foodies.)

I'm considering JiRaffe and Michael's in Santa Monica, Patina and A.O.C. I know A.O.C. is probably the trendiest and most casual of the bunch, but we've been wanting to try it for a while. (Is Michael's patio as gorgeous as has been mentioned?)

We'd definitely be up for a good tasting menu w/wining pairings, although a strong a la carte menu is always good. (We had dinner at Sona for our anniversary back when we were house-hunting in June and liked it a lot.) BF loves foie gras (as do I), so I want to go somewhere that offers a great preparation.

Appreciate your input on the ones I've listed.

Thanks!!!
