Meyer lemons have arrived!

Attention transplanted Californians and other lemon afficionados-- I just found Meyer lemons at the Georgetown Fresh Fields. They may be at other Fresh Fields stores as well, but not all stores always have the same items. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Meyer lemons--they are quite different than the typical lemon: a unique, perfumed aroma in the peel, which is a lot thinner and more delicate, and the juice is fruitier, less acidic.

This afternoon, I'm going to make a Meyer lemon cheesecake, and macerate the peel of a few of the others--some in vodka and some in olive oil.
