I had come across a prior post on strawberries in a jar which was a *great* way to store them. http://www.chowhound.com/topics/30181...
I now have a bunch of blueberries and am wondering if the same treatment is optimal? Cooks Illustrated suggests a wash with mild vinegar then storing in a paper-towel lined container:
"If the berries aren’t to be used immediately, we recommend cleaning the berries with a mild vinegar solution (3 cups water mixed with 1 cup white vinegar), which will destroy the bacteria, before drying them and storing them in a paper-towel lined airtight container." In the picture, they state the lid should be slightly ajar.
Anyone have experience to weigh in on which is better?
