Quite a night. We've finally got the board more or less cleaned up.
What makes Chowhound different from many online discussions is that we're a highly focused resource with lots of great chow info and very little chatter. This is not a clubhouse serving all social/conversational needs nor is it an open microphone for pile-on venting and debating about things that bug you, writers you deem lousy, or posters you find annoying. It's a forum for people to swap tips and info re: delicious things to eat.
We all share an interest in maintaining and protecting Chowhound's uncommon signal-to-noise ratio. If you feel like some idle chitchat, please go to any of the gazillion places on the Internet where that sort of thing is done rather than dilute this unique resource.
Please be considerate of our limited bandwidth and of your fellow hounds who come here for chow tips. The resource we're building here can be of unprecedented use for all hounddom...or it can be the usual McInternet chatter. Please consider this when and if you choose to contribute.
