I finally made time to get to the oyster bar at Meritage. It was fantastic.
There were 5 or 6 types of oyster from the east coast and another 5 or 6 from the west coast. They were fresh, generally distinct from one another and properly shucked by friendly and knowledgable staff.
The oysters were a bit pricey at $3 to $4 per oyster.
I enjoyed a Franciacorta DOCG sparkling wine from on the list for around $55 / bottle.
We got a bit overenthusiastic on New Year's eve. We ran the board. Next time, I'd skip the lobster, shrimp and whelk. The clams were ok, but not as good as the oysters.
I'll definitely go back for more.
