Mercadito Review/Need some help

Hey all-

Figure the sprit of this board is give a little get a little.

First the giving-

Went to Mercadito in the EV last night for the 3rd or 4th time. Food is still good, though the service seems to have detiorated a bit. Its definitely not as a crazy crowded as it used to be either, which may be a plus. Is the WV outpost open yet? We had the cucumber margs (pino?) which are awesome because they have some spicy pepper ingredient in them too. Much better then your usual sickly sweet marg made with Jose Cuervo. We then had queso fondido with mushroooms (its better with the chorizo), tuna ceviche (good like all the ceviches they have), Tacos al Pastor (best thing on the menu IMHO), Tacos al camoran (shirmp tacos - maybe my new favorite thing on the menu), and these awesome plaintains. They were still juicy on the inside and not two sweet, not like the pasty fried things you see at some cuban resturaunts. All in all highly enjoyable, and much better now that you can make reservations.

Now the getting-

Mom is in town for the weekend, staying at 57th and Park. Since I live downtown, I am completely clueless about Upper East side dining. I am looking for resturants that aren't too loud, too expense accounty, but still have good food. Say around $100-150 for two. Italian, Asian, whatever. Thanks.
