Just got back from Scooter's Barbecue on Poplar in Germantown. I'm told that the proprietor used to sell barbecue from a cart on Beale Street; I'd never tried it before.
I tried the rib tips--they were toothsome, smoky, and doused in a very tangy (read: vinegar-based) sauce. Beans and slaw were adequate. All in all, I'd call it a pretty solid addition to the Memphis Barbecue scene--not quite Cozy Corner, but head and shoulders above Corky's.
