Meat & Bread - sando santo

Simple name for this sandwich joint on Cambie off Hastings. Big windows, long table, loud-ish music and licensed. I came for the hallowed porchetta sandwich. The moist pieces of pork came with some of the crackling, a bit of salsa verde, all in the in-house baked ciabatta. It also came with a dollop of their own mustard and sambal. Having the sandwich with a bit of those condiments naturally made more flavours. Of course, I had to compare it to the version I had from Roli Roti at the Ferry Building market in SF; that one had more of the crunchy skin and some fresh parsley. As well, the Roli Roti bun was bigger which meant you tasted more of the pork here at M&B. And if you don't want the bun, they'll sell you some of the porchetta on its own, just like in SF. Nice.

They also offer beef brisket / meatball sandos, grilled cheese, daily soups, and ice cream sandwiches, which the website says is maple bacon flavoured.
