McPhee's Grill in Templeton--what once was good ...

is now quite bad, in my opinion. When we first moved to the area about 6 years ago, McPhee's was the hottest place around. We had some very delicious meals there. In the past few years, however, I have had increasingly disappointing meals there. It seems their portions have gotten smaller while their prices have gotten higher.
At one dinner I got what should have been a sure-fire hit, since it contained all my favorite ingredients (all I can remember now is that it had eggplant). In sum? Bland! No flavor! At another dinner I got, I don't know, some salmon thing with an Asian slaw? Overcooked, dry fish and not-so-flavorful slaw! And this was supposed to be one of the "signature" dishes.
Then, yesterday, I went for lunch with a group of 16 people. First, we had one waitress, and she was cranky. She would pause in the doorway and take a deep breath each time she entered the room. She also yelled at us like a drill sergeant! I decided to err on the side of caution and order a MEAT dish (though the pasta dish sounded really tasty). I got the pulled pork sandwich because, well, how hard can that be, and I thought it would be a good gauge of the food quality. Okay, are shoestring potatoes supposed to be COLD and HARD? These were. The bun was rather cold and hard as well. I was expecting the pork to be cold, too, figuring that the meal had been sitting ready for a while, but the meat was actually warm. The slaw was not on the side but on top of the meat like a condiment. Not much flavor, just seemed like big chunks of purple cabbage to me. And the pulled pork? Nothing too thrilling, just very average. In fact, I've had better pulled pork sandwiches at Big Momma's down the street from McPhee's.
What happened to this place? Did they expand too quickly? I WANT them to do well, and I WANT the food to be good, but unfortunately it seems only their attitude is superior.
