I just dined at Max Soha the other night after a few months away. Has the management changed hands? I first noticed that the menus had been redone, and then the other changes hit me - different bread, the dipping sauce for the bread much more cloying than it had been. Atmosphere-wise, the music seemed to be a mix of about 3 Motown songs on endless repeat.
Worst of all, my favorite menu item, the spaghetti chitarra with lamb ragu, was served with obviously dried (not fresh) pasta, was served so hot I severely burned the roof of my mouth, had much too much sauce on it, AND they gave me a small dish of cheese (I appreciated the way they used to cheese up your dish in the kitchen and always guess the right proportion).
Am I mad or have things changed for the worse here? And what is up with Avenue B - same story?
