back in the US after a year in Chile......flew into Miami on Friday and was OVERWHELMED by ordering food in English for the first time in a year, not that I had to in Miami (i quickly went back to spanish)....had a smoothie in the airport, a cuban sandwich that night (with pickles and potato salad, all for the first time in a year).....
Flew to Boston Saturday morning, no food on the airplane but two beverages (cranberry juice and tomato juice, both for the first time in a year)....
Back in Boston, my parents picked me up at the airport and we drove straight to Chinatown, or as straight as we could go anyway. Took the new tunnel which is neat, then connected to 93 north to try to get out at chinatown which pretty much didn`t work, so we ended up all the way at Fanueil Hall and weaved our way through the streets and the tourists FINALLY making our way to Chau Chow City for dim sum, which was EXCELLENT!!! it was less crowded than I expected for noon on Saturday, but just as delicious as I remembered.....this is funny because my LAST meal in the United States before leaving for Chile 1 year ago was also dim sum, but in Flushing, Queens (since I left from JFK in NYC)....
I will be living in Medford this coming year and am looking forward to lots more great eating thanks to chowhound...i have been reading along this year, there are so many new things to try......nos vemos,
