After reading the Chronicles review of Marche Aux Fluers a couple weeks ago I was reminded that it was on my list of spots to check out, so off to Marin I went to finally try it and Im so glad I did!
The food was delicious, the service attentive and the atmosphere warm and romantic. I started with a marinated beet and feta salad, while my husband had the best French onion soup either of us ever tasted. For mid-course we split house made pasta with chantrelle mushrooms and duck confit. Entres were short ribs (super tender and flavorful with a crispy crust that we fought over) with butter beans, baby broccoli and salsa verde and a pork chop with pearl onions, apples, and fingerling potatoes, sage butter and braised cabbage. And the molten chocolate we regretted pre-ordering was so irresistible it found its own space in our full bellies.
While we were there we learned that theyre hosting a white truffle dinner Dec. 6 and 7 for $75. This is much less expensive than most of the other truffle dinners around and the menu (posted on there website that I linked) sounds great.
