OK, So I am meeting my friend in Madrid for a few days on Thursday. My Spanish is rusty, and I am aware that they speak a different Spanish that what I learned anyway. Will that be a problem?
Then of course is the question of what to do? I have heard all about Tapas crawls and that is something we are definitely interested. I am admittedly not an adventurous eater, though, and pork and shrimp sound great - but i am not so into sardines, calamari, or a couple of the other things I have read. Are there maybe 5 or 6 tapas places out there that offer things that are a little less adventurous?
Also, I have heard great things about "Old Madrid" and the caves - I have found limited info. Anyone know anything? I believe Spain is more known for red wine as opposed to white - is the white there good at all or is it found in many areas? Any other nightlife suggestions? Where is the best chance for some American guys to meet down to earth women?
Finally, besides the Prado, are there any must-dos for culture? We are going to try to get tickets to Real Madrid on Sunday so we basically just have three days to fill.
I know Butterfly is the Madrid pro. I would appreciate any thoughts. Muchas Gracias!
