We plan to enjoy a few days driving and touring (and, weather permitting, hiking) in early 2010 along and near the lower reaches of the Seine, between (upstream) Les Andelys, and (downstream) the Honfleur estuary.
We realize that some restaurants may be undertaking seasonal closure. Still, we would appreciate recommendations, especially for lunch. (We would prefer to be on or very near the river/ estuary, but given the season, a working fireplace may be an even higher priority.)
So far, we are focusing on (heading downstream): In Port Mort (just above Les Andelys): “Auberge des Pêcheurs”; in Les Damps: “La Pomme”; in Saint-Étienne-du-Vauvray: “La Ferme”; in La Bouille: “Les Gastronomes”; in Jumieges: “L'Auberge des Ruines”; and in Honfleur: “L’Absinthe.” (We’ll be staying at “La Chaine d'Or” in Les Andelys, and that’s why it’s not on our lunch-seeking list.)
Do those who know of these or other similar places recommend that we rule any of these in or out –- or that we consider others? Thanks.
