Lunch at Cafe Les Deux

Found the entrance around back and wandered into a beautiful patio. There is a gurgling fountain, and luckily today a nice breeze. The host/waiter said we could pick any table we wanted, so we found a table for four in the shade. As there was only one other party there, we pretty much had run of the place.

The waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Service was good.

The menu is short, but has good variety. I chose the lobster tabouli. Others chose the homemade noodles with artichokes and mushrooms, and the roasted chicken. The special was bouillabaisse, which sounded good, but as it was warm outside, no one wanted to order a hot soupy dish.

The iced tea has a minty flavor, which would have been better if the iced tea was colder. It was good, but when it gets warm, the minty flavor overpowers the tea. They also brought out bread and a nice fresh vegetable plate.

When the food came, the fresh noodles looked very good, served in a brown sauce. The ladies who ordered it said the sauce was a bit unusual, but the dish was “okay.” The chicken was also served in a (different) brown sauce with potato, and looked delicious. My lobster with tabouli was fantastic. No parsley with the tabouli, so it wasn’t green as tabouli is typically served. It was fresh and really good. My only complaint was that it was a small portion, so I was still a little hungry. If they cut it down just a little bit, it would be a good appetizer.

The atmosphere is very peaceful, and it would be a great place for a business meeting, a date, or even better, a great place to spend an afternoon with a bottle of wine.
