Lukewarm Trip Report: Sibling Rivalry

I followed the hype and headed out to Sibling Rivalry on Tuesday, and found the experience very inconsistent, and wanted to offer some warnings (and some commendations)...

I ordered a Kirkland cocktail, a mojito made with gin, and I'd recommend it to anyone. Very soft texture, and wonderful flavors.

I started with warm oysters wrapped in bacon - nice presentation on a bed of salt, but the flavor of the oysters was almost indetectable under the thick bacon wrappings - quite disappointing.

My entree was seared beef with a peppercorn crust (I was a little bit surprised that our server wasn't able to answer my question of what cut of meat it was). I ordered it medium rare, but it came quite rare (the rarest cut of beef I've ever had). I thought of sending it back, but I tasted it first - and it turned out to be wonderful. Again, I'd recommend it to anyone. We ordered a side of horseradish spinach, and I'd stay away from this one - the spinach was nearly floating in horseradish cream, and the flavor was so overpowering that we only made it way through about a quarter of the dish.

We skipped dessert in favor of ice cream at the pizza shop next door.

Has anyone had a glowing experience there? (If not, I don't think I'll head back).
