This place is just across the Lowell border on Princeton St. (Rt 3a), across from the UMass Lowell West campus.

Excellent food, served well, in a comfortable, come as you are, atmosphere. We waited 45 minutes to get in – the line was still there when we left at 9:30. Parking is a little tight, as is the waiting area up front, but most people wandered off to the large bar area.

The fare is traditional pub grub, but far ranging – from red sauce Italian, to Shepard’s Pie, to steaks and surf and turf. Everything was reasonably priced. They advertise Prime Rib – all sizes, from 10 oz. to a 32 oz. monster. We ordered a NY Sirloin and a Prime Rib (not the 32 oz.). These were outstanding. Choice quality meat, cooked to order (medium rare on both). The roast had a very nice, salty crust. It had a really nice cap – which is my favorite part, not too much fat. The NY Sirloin was grilled nicely – a well marbled and very tasty piece of meat.

Service was excellent. These folks are obviously used to the crowd. The waitress was there when we needed her – brought plenty of refills for the drinks, and checked us out (with the doggy bag) with no fuss.

This is a genuinely well run establishment that puts out good food and provides great service. I’d prefer it to the Outback or Joe’s American B&G or similar mid-range chains. It’s no Smith & Wollensky’s, and it’s not prime quality, dry-aged beef, but both entrees were under $20 (with salad and potato), so bang for buck, it’s well worth going to – as lots of others obviously know – not many places in the burbs have people waiting to get in past 9:30.
