Heading to new orleans for new years. Coming in from San Diego with my girlfriend; both food obsessed, although me more so than her. This will be my second time in New Orleans...I was there once for a weekend during college and spent my time eating at Popeye's and Bubba Gump (I'm ashamed, I really am). Anyhow, want to do it right this time around.
So far, what we have in mind is the following:
Snacks - many
-Mr. B's Bistro -for the BBQ Shrimp
-Jacque Imo's for dinner
-Cafe Du Monde
-Casamentos for oysters
-Central Grocery for muffalatta
Lunches - 4
-Cajun Seafood for some poboys and steamed seafood
-August prix fixe lunch
need a couple more suggestions...any realllly good hole in the walls? Would like to stay under 40ish dollars for two people.
Dinners - 4
-Two of the following Commanders/August/Emeril's/Antoine's/Stella
Open to other suggestions.
Would love to hear about some hole in the wall places that do _______ especially well. We're both huge seafood lovers and can't get enough of it. Anything else we should be aware of while we're down in nola? Also, what should we do for new years eve dinner....aside from make reservations ASAP.
