Okay, Hounds, I need your assistance. Tomorrow's a traumatic milestone birthday for me (more than 35), and to make the going a bit easier, I'm hosting about 12 friends in the West Village for dinner and drinks. I definitely want to go out afterwards, and will bring along whoever wants to go. So, here are a few loose guidelines:
*no or low (<$10) cover charge;
*not a "club" per se, but some acid jazz/trip-hop/jazz/world music in the background would be nice, if we felt like shakin' our hips a bit;
*low-key vibe, but a bit of a buzz in the air, if that makes sense at all;
*a choice of wine/Champagne/sparkling by the glass;
*West Village a plus.
Am I asking for the moon? Is there a place I can go where I will not feel like a dinosaur? I'm hip enough, but not a poseur. Is this a coherent request?
Thanks in advance; looking forward to your guidance.
