Been hearing about this place from friends for a while and finally got down there this afternoon. While I am someone who usually hates places that are raved about, I can't say anything bad about it. As a Brooklyn boy, raised on the epic Queen Pizzeria, I have been craving real pizza since moving to Westchester. Well, I finally found it. Had a sausage pie (since I was told their sausage is famous) and can say it was as near perfect as I've had recently. Perfect thickness....none of the new wave of skinny pizzas in this joint. Nice char, but not at all burnt. Perfect seasoning, so as not to taste like the other 5000 pizza places in NY. The cheese is melted, but doesn't stretch for six feet when you bite it. The sausage....nice chunks which burst with flavor. The crust is perfect. Not to crunchy, but not to flimsy.
It's a rare occasion when I don't have to add some sort of seasoning to make today's pizza places edible, but this was by far the best pizza I've had in a long time. And before people start raving about DiFara's or the other place under the bridge, I've never been to DiFara's, but as two life-long Brooklynites (and one who I had never met) said "DIFara's? I'm FROM Brooklyn....never heard of it."
