I am visiting KC this weekend (leaving thursday night)for a chess tournament with my son. The tournament is at Bartle Hall at 13th and Broadway. Unfortunately while there I will not have a car and will not have too much time to prowl around and check all the many recommendations from this board. I have had Bryants and loved it (5 years ago - I do not know if this was before or after it supposedly went downhill, and will probably try to get some again), and of course, am looking for good BBQ and Stroud's fried chicken.
I may be able to convince the in-laws who will also be visitng to drive out for one out-of the way meal, but will have to concentrate on places near the tournament and the airport.
Complicating things even further is the fact that my wife is a veggie (not strict eats lacto-ovo), and my father-in-law is on one of those atkins diet things (though bbq shouldn't be too much of a problem)
If anyone who knows the place would let me know which of the spots on this list fit those catgories or at least a couple of them(addresses/hours of operation would also be very helpful) I would be very, very obliged.
