I used to live in Los Angeles and for the life of me cannot remember the name of a local food producer.
They produce salsas (perhaps also guacamoles, I'm not sure) as well as ready-made soups, including minestrone, carrot and a few others. The soups are not canned, but instead packaged in what I think were roughly quart-sized containers (as you would get in the deli section, the flimsy plastic kind) and were kept in the refrigerator section (at least they were at Vicente Foods in Brentwood, which was where I encountered them.
I believe they *might* also package ready-to-use chopped vegetables (such as peppers, onions and the like) in similar (albeit smaller) containers as well.
Many thanks if you can name that company!
