It wasn't my first time (previous visits but a year or two ago last time) but continues as a thumbs up experience. Must remember to get back soon.
We were 8 for late lunch and had a very good time. Service very good too though since we were at the end of the lunch shift I think we ended up with the bartender as our captain (who did a great job) and the busboys took over once we hit 3pm (left after 4pm). No matter, all did a great job.
A round of appetizers were each very good--most of us had the polenta and mushrooms which we knew is a signature dish.
We then split the spaghetti and tomato sauce and paradelle and rabbit amongst ourselves to get more dishes tried. Good too.
Entrees seemed to go over very well. High marks for the sea bass, duck and foie gras angiolotti (sp?), venison, short ribs/steak too.
Desserts are less traditional which makes very good sense after the rich foods. I am a sweethound but enjoyed the small olive oil cake with poached pear.
Highly recommend. Average price (one drink per person average)about $100 a person. It's a lovely quiet room. Gets noisier in the evening but very mangeable.
