Thanks for the recommendations to L'Impero. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. A beautiful room, very nice service (except that it took about 15 minutes to get the sommelier (sp))
We both had the 4 course $56 prix fixe menu.
I had the sweetbread salad, the pasta with snails, and the spice rubbed pancetta. For dessert, I had a cheese plate. All were excellent - the sweetbread salad nicely balanced between greens and meat, lightly dressed with some sort of vinaigrette. The pasta was properly al dente, there could have been more of a snail flavor, but it was still quite tasty (I haven't had snails except in garlic butter, so I am not sure if this was due to snails just not having that strong a flavor). The pancetta was great - not sure what was in the spice-rub, but certainly some ginger and some pepper. The meat was wonderfully rich.
