Le Mas in Wayne, PA

A good friend and I had a fantastic dinner at Le Mas last night. We were seated in the bar area and arrived at the tail end of happy hour. It was rather loud but quieted down after about 40 minutes. We did think it was odd when there was a quiet dining room with available tables. Personally, I think they made the assumption that two younger, attractive (pardon me for tooting my own horn...really I apologize) women would prefer that...but who knows!

I had the Select Field Greens - beautiful field greens with seville oranges, slivered almonds and manchego cheese. The dressing was a very light, creamy vinegarette. This is by far one of the best salads I've ever had. I really love a good salad. The entree was scallops with baby carrots, mushrooms and a starchy veggie I couldn't identify. Oh, Lord! Good stuff.

My friends had the romaine salad with parmesean and the boullebaise (sp?). I didn't sample but she raved about them.

The portions were a nice size - not too small and not humongous. I love to go out for a good meal and not end up horribly stuffed and uncomfortable in my skin. There was also a nice selection of wine and many were reasonably priced.

I would definitely recommend Le Mas again!
