I am trying to decide where to take a friend from out of town and these are the places I've narrowed it down to. Here are my concerns about each:
Le Bernardin---is it stuffy there? Will we be the only ones not over 50?
Blue Hill---not "impressive" enough? Friend is from the west coast so great produce might not be as much of a "wow" experience for this person as it might be in comparison to other NY eateries.
Veritas---if you're not that into wine, is it still terrific? I'm into wine, not sure my friend is.
Gramercy Tavern---I'm afraid the food will just be good, but lack the "wow" factor. Is this the case?
Union Pacific---Any recent reviews would be appreciated.
Fiamma---is this a dressy place? We want it to be a special occasion-ish night.
Thanks for your input and your advice.
