Layla's: New Middle Eastern in Stamford

Layla's Falafel has opened on High Ridge Road, in the row of stores at the intersection with Cedar Heights.

We got takeout last night (but, since there are no tables yet, eating in wasn't an option). We had kibbe (large and very good), falafel, grape leaves, hummus, pita, some green salads. Everything was good, although the grape leaves were falling apart. A handwritten sign said that the menu was temporary, but it currently includes the above plus a range of other middle eastern fare such as lentils, schwarma, rice, sweets, etc.

Very nice people serving up the chow. Great to have it in the area, since the nearest middle eastern is all the way down on Rte 1 at Myrna's.
