Lanesplitters Pizza--Pleasant Surprise

Hadn't cared that much for Lanesplitters pizza in the past, but I got one this week that was a positive revelation. The crust was flexible enough for a lenthwise fold, but still had a nicely crunchy surface; the flavor was pleasantly fresh-bready, with spots of char. The sauce was tomato-y and fresh-tasting, without much obvious spicing. The cheese had a very pleasant milky mozzarella flavor, which really made the pie for me. The pepperoni added a little flavor, but not much texture; I usually prefer it a bit crisped, but they hurried this pie because I was waiting. Much better than Arinell, and it seemed at the moment as good as Gioia. Clearly a comparison tasting is called for.
