Landmark Peruvian Cevichería to open at Pier 1-1/2

The Tablehopper was all but bursting with juicy news this week, but none more interesting to me than the item about the upcoming La Mar Cebichería Peruana, an elaborate cevichería and pisco bar a stone's throw from the Ferry Building. The man behind it is none other than Gastón Acurio, the leading figure in Peruvian cuisine (which some consider one of the world's three great cuisines, along with French and Chinese).

And oh, yeah, the Inner Sunset will get its Peruvian, too, when Fresca opens a sister restaurant in the PJ's Oysterbed space at 8th & Irving.
