Lakeside in Philly

Last night, we satisfied our craving for the dim sum at Lakeside Deli - which is anything but a deli.

We just discovered this place recently, thanks to Chowhound, and now it's my favorite in Chinatown.

We had:
two orders of meat/peanut dumplings. These are three to an order,
and I won't share - too good!
one order of shrimp dumplings - four to an order, pure chunk of
turnip cakes - three squares, kind of like potato cakes, great
honey glazed pork - this is like the meat of spareribs without
the bones - amazing!
stuffed eggplant, four to an order - stuffed with a shrimp mousse,
crispy triangles - three large puffy things stuffed with shrimp,
pork, water-chestnuts and honey (I asked) - slightly sweet,

All this - and we couldn't eat any more - for a total bill of
$16.30. (We didn't have beverages.)
It is designer food with wonderful, warm service at a bargain price.
Cash only, BBYO, and we've never had a problem with it being crowded.

If you haven't been there, try it. So far, everything we have ever ordered has been excellent.
And we still haven't tried the many fish and noodle dishes!
