Many years ago, I bought a small shovel at a farm auction for $1.00. I have used it for nigh on 30 yrs and it is a perfect size for me, but the sharp end of the spade has worn down until it's flat and the wooden handle has become a bit wobbly.
While trying to find a good quality replacement on google, I learned this is called a long-handled spade or a "ladies'" shovel. It's about 3' long and has the right balance for leverage. Regular shovels are just too big for me.
I cannot for the life of me find one on the internet of good quality. Home Depot has a child-size piece of xxxxxx that bends when you push it into sand. Worthless.
Does anyone know where I can find this indispensable tool?
