Lacroix Picnic Lunch

We checked out the Lacroix summer "picnic" lunch today. The flyer says $14, the menu says $12 (they charged $12). You get the great bread basket, cold soup -- pureed and excellent gazpacho (we could have substituted the hot soup) and a selection of cold salads. The selection was excellent: tuna (too salty), chicken salad with mushrooms, penne with baby shrimp and red bell peppers, sliced plum tomatoes and fresh mozarella balls, carrot banana pistachio salad (really -- and very good), potato salad (nothing special but well done), mixed greens with side garnishes (gherkins, olives, anchovies, 2 kinds of dressing), watermelon with mint. With the check, you get a mandoline tray with tiny pistachio cookies, chunks of mint chocolate, candied almonds, candied orange rinds, and dried cranberries. Definitely worth it (but they need to do something about the tuna -- none of us could eat it).
