lacai (vietnamese soup)?

howdy chowhounds,

i finally got out of streeterville and went to argyle, and i have to say the vietnamese in this town is pretty decent. pho hoa is a reliable chain (but i think this one is better than the one in mountain view, ca) and ba le is also quite tasty (but i have to say i was surprised they charged 2.50 plus tax).

the two big questions of the day are:

1. is there a lacai soup place around here? in vietnam, there is a section by saigon (i think) called lacai, and each store has a soup specialty. in the bay area, there were several places that served liked this (to give you an idea, vi's served a great braised duck leg in anise chicken broth), but there was also a large vietnamese population. anything like this out here? just looking for some soup besides pho and bun bo.

2. is there a high end vietnamese restaurant that caters to vietnamese (ie not le colonial and the like). some place with the seven courses of beef would be great.

thanks for any help!
