This place may be the real deal or, heck, close enough for me. I haven't been there enough to write a full report, but hopefully this post will encourage other hounds to give it a shot.
So far I've had enchilladas- once verde and once mole poblano. Both times quite enjoyable, not stellar but good honest fare. Another time it was a special of rellenos- which featured great big honking poblano peppers loaded with queso blanco and simmered in a red chile sauce. Gotta love that, especially this time of year.
Next time will definitely be the lingua tacos, but the blackboard specials always seem so interesting too. Anyway, I really like the vibe there- more of a diner than a restaurant- and I'm sure there are treasures to be found.
It is located on Washington Ave., just north of Main Street.
