LA ORQUIDIA honduran in the bronx report

well now that school is in session and i am back to work again i stopped in one of my usual work spots yesterday. i thought i'd post because as i recall some were looking for honduran chow a while back and if so you will want to try this place.

they don't always have everything but it's a really good restaurant with a nice variety of seafood, meat, soups, sandwiches and comida rapida (fast food) like tamales, empanadas plantanos w/ cheese, etc.. also, they have horchata, batidos, beer, expresso and honduran sodas to drink. good breakfasts and some baked goods as well.

so do stop by if you are in the area. btw it's espanol-only but they have a clear menu and you know it works out fine even if your spanish is weak like mine.

LA ORQUIDIA (sp?) is located just east of 3rd avenue at "the hub" in the bronx (2,5 trains) on 149th street and brook avenue --- just across from a new-ish burger king.

they have some weekend soup specials, notably sopa de caracol (conch), but i got a delish sopa de pollo and a tamarindo drink for lunch.
