On the Upper West Side, B'way and 95st. SE corner, La Nueva Victoria's atmosphere grew on me as a first timer, and improved even more when I had the Pork Egg Foo Young. Deeply fried crisp, tasting at moments a bit like potato pancake, with a much larger than usual amount of char siu this version was better than I had at the Am - Chinese restos in my past. As was expected from a Latin Chinese restaurant, the portions at La Nueva Victoria are training table large.
This is a recommended dish and an easier way to get to Lum's than the time machines available at J and R's.
