I've been craving fish taco's the last few days so I hit up the two places that I thought would serve up the best ones.
First night, I decided to hit La Estrella on Foothill and Altadena Drive. I ordered 1 fish taco and one torta sandwich with Al Pastor. The sandwich was ok but if knew what I was about to get myself into with the fish taco, I would've not ordered the torta and ordered 2-3 fish tacos instead. Short of the fish tacos I've had in Baja, this was one of the best and freshest tasting Baja style fish tacos I've had in a while. The portion was great and the battered fish was fresh and flakey. Tons of cabbage and great tarter sauce to top it off. I'll definitely be going back soon for more. That was one delicious fish taco!
A couple of nights later, I decided to try the fish tacos at Super Burrito on Colorado and Rosemead (1 block west of). Although I do like their asada and pastor tacos, the fish taco here was no where near as good as the ones over at La Estrella. It was like night and day in comparison. Needless to say, I won't be ordering fish taco's at Super Burrito anymore. Maybe I should've taken a queue from the establishment name and stuck to what they do best...asada and pork.
